INKTILES – SMALL SCALES

Painting with fountainpeninks on a small scale on watercolor paper is a relaxing way to use way more of your stored fountainpenink than by writing in a journal or notebook with (in extreme) a EF nib. I enjoy painting these small scale tiles in monochrome hues, in diminished sets of 2 or 3 colors or sometimes with no limits. While having the inks on a porcelain mixing plate, I eventually get to mix teh used colors up and end up with the most exciting shades and tints inbetween the original inks. Some are some are just dull and boring, but some are extraordinary and you wish you can recreate them at the end of the session.
Below are some examples of my blue, brown, red and green pallets.

If you are interested in learning more about colors, compostion and painting these tiles by yourself, join one of my workshops, I teach in The Netherlands the next months.

The first opportunity will be may 31st in Utrecht during Dutch Pen Show 2025 at the Van der Valk Hotel. Tickets available via www.dutchpenshow.com.

looking forward to seeing you!
